Not so long ago, we introduced a development program for young people with the perhaps atypical name of EUDAIMONIA for students and some teachers.

The creator of the program introduced it to us himself. He created it based on his many years of experience working with young people and their international success in STEM high school competitions.

What is it and why this name?

The program is based on the ideas of Greek philosophers, but these are linked to the knowledge and skills which are helpful also today.

Aristotle speaks of the fulfillment of life through the determination of unambiguous, clear and practical goals of the individual. Management by Objectives (MBO) as a method is used in current management practice. So, one of the ideas of a great philosopher which is very often used today.

What is your life vision?
Who do you want to be?
What do you want to achieve in life?
What are your goals?
These are issues that young people should address during their studies in order to find the right path that will lead them to success and a fulfilling life in any field.

The essence and main idea of Aristotle’s Eudaimonia is thus the activation of possibilities, resources, the full potential of man, and the “flourishing” of the human personality. It includes what a person thinks, how he reacts and what he does during his life. It is the existence of the meaning of life.

The aim of the first part of the program is to prepare young people “for life” through self-knowledge, knowledge of their strengths, getting to know the people around them. The second part gives them the basics of leadership thinking.

Who is the program for and how does it work?

The program is designed for young people aged 16 to 23, i.e. high school and college students.

It is a combination of face-to-face and online workshops for a group of 9–12 people, who always meet in the same composition so that they become a cohesive and mutually supportive team.

If you are interested, we are considering to have part of the program directly in Athens, Greece. So the participants can really follow in the footsteps of Greek philosophers and experience the authentic environment where the ideas were originated.

It is necessary kept in mind that the purpose of program is not about finish the course and then end with a certificate of completion. It is rather a way of life that we open to young people which will show them meaning and value of knowledge. Our role and also our social responsibility is to help participants in this journey.
